Heidi BK Sloss, motivational keynote speaker, 30+ year serial entrepreneur, teacher, writer and mentor, writes and presents on issues relating to mothering and motherhood. She created the Magic of Motherhood blog to provide women with a forum to explore how we embrace the good, the bad and the ugly of mothering ourselves, our friends and of course our children.

Heidi’s background includes time spent as a stay-at-home mother for 10+ years, a marketing consultant in Silicon valley, a Founder of a menswear manufacturing company in New York City, a working member of the Board of Director member at La Leche League International, headquartered in Chicago, IL, a Founder of a Women in Family Owned Business Association, a Founder of a real estate business in the Midwest and sold a maternity/nursing clothing line in the Washington DC area.

As a volunteer, Heidi has worked with all 11 of her childrens’ school’s PTA, various local community groups including her current town’s emergency preparedness group, but it is her long time (22 years and counting) association with La Leche League that has had the most profound influence on and in her life as a woman and a mother.

For years Heidi’s kids have told her that her talents lie in helping other women beyond breastfeeding. With her youngest now off in college on the east coast, Heidi is finally sharing her unique perspective on being a mother, wife, daughter, business owner and friend through her blog posts on The Magic of Mothering.

In 2012 Heidi wrote the best-selling book, Fortune is in the Follow-Up®: 5 Power Strategies to Reinvent Your Marketing and was a co-author of the groundbreaking book, 10 Powerful Women: 10 Strategic Insights into Successful Business both published by 3L Publishers and available on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.

Heidi and her husband of 25 years make their home in Northern California but are on sabbatical for the first 5 months of 2014 exploring Melbourne Australia. Heidi delights in spending time with her 23 year old son, a Northern California software entrepreneur and 18 year old daughter, a vocal performance major in college. Other favorite activities include stitching, yoga, hiking, reading, writing, tennis and hanging out with good friends.
